VISION & DEVELOPMENT

Galloway has recently had a growth spurt. This committee helped to control the growth for the betterment of our community. We monitor re-zoning applications and communicate the pros and cons to the neighbors. We have also worked with the City of Springfield to improve potential road improvements and sidewalk additions. Join this committee if you want to be a part in making the Galloway area an even better place to live.

HISTORY

Galloway is rich in history! Join this group to learn more and educate others about the history of Galloway. The History Team is led by Jacque (Sisco) Thummel and meets frequently to work on projects associated with preservation of the rich history of Galloway Village. The GVNA History team along with the Sisco family has done extensive research on the history of the area. The Sisco family and many of our neighbors have roots that go very deep into the history of Galloway. This group loves to find CLUES and keeps making researching the history of Galloway FUN!

Neighborhood Watch

Galloway has one of the largest Neighborhood Watch committees in the City of Springfield.

Green Space

We are fortunate to have the beautiful Galloway Creek flow through the middle of our neighborhood. At least twice a year we have a "Stream Clean Up" and we all gather to remove debris from in and around the creek. We also have a "Neighborhood Clean Up Day" when anyone can bring "trash" from their homes or anywhere in the neighborhood and the City of Springfield provides dumpsters for us to fill. This is a great opportunity to "Clean House".

COMMUNICATION

We feel that communication is the key to a great neighborhood. We use Facebook, email, fliers and this website to keep everyone informed.

This page is a public group. It is NOT the official GVNA group. This group was designed for communication regarding zoning issues but has since become a group for the ALL neighbors to use for various neighborhood issues....for example, lost pets and reporting stolen items.

MEMBERSHIP

Our Membership Committee works diligently to spread the word about our Association in order to include everyone in our fun events. Membership dues are $20 each year. Our membership committee will send out reminders and collect dues. Once your dues are collected, you will be able to vote on neighborhood concerns. GVNA meets quarterly on the 3rd Tuesday of January, April, July and October at 6:30pm at Galloway Baptist Church.
